West Wemyss Tower is a late 16th century tower house, founded by the Wemyss family, located on the shoreline of the Fife coastal path, within the Chapel Gardens. A partly 16th century wall infront of the tower encloses the Wemyss family burial ground and the three large circular flanking towers are possibly 16th century.
Wemyss Castle is located a few miles east along the coastal path.
Sadly there is no history of this lovely tower house and it is strictly private with no access to the public.
However, it does provide a lovely walk from the nearby coastal village of the same name within a conservation area with a population ofless than 300 people. There is a car park at the village with a short walk to the tower.
