Cluny Crichton Castle is three storey 17th century L-plan castle located on the slopes of drained agricultural land on farmland of the same name. The unfinished castle was built in 1666 by George Crichton shortly after his marriage to the only daughter of Sir Robert Douglas of Tilquhillie. Unfortunately the castle was never completed due to mounting costs.
The ruin is located oposite the farm in a field with livestock, so permission shold be sought to access the castle.
The helpful farmer pointed out the gargoyle on the stable buildings opposite the castle came from the castle.
