Arnot Tower is ruined 16th century tower house, located within the grounds of Glenrothes Bed and Breakfast, surrounded by beautiful, landscaped gardens.

1250 ~ The Arnot family are recorded as holding the lands and are strong supporters of Robert the Bruce.
1296 ~ David Arnot is one of 2000 Scottish nobles required to swear allegiance to King Edward I of England.
1400's ~ The first castle is built at Arnot.
1507 ~ A strong stone tower is built within existing earth and timber fortifictions.
1513 ~ Robert Arnot is killed at the Battle of Flodden.
1629 ~ Sir Michael Arnot is created a Baronet by King Charles I.
1705 ~ The tower is abandoned by the Arnot family and sold to the Bruce's because of mounting debts.
